Promotional Poster for The Social Dilemma

I designed this poster based on a historic design aesthetic. I’ve always appreciated the 1920s Art Deco Movement and I felt it would pair well with the concept of the problematic nature of mass data collection and social media.

My goal was to raise awareness about internet surveillance and the pitfalls of social media. My poster promotes the popular Netflix documentary, The Social Dilemma. I incorporated the style of the 1920s into my design because of the historical parallels between the 1920s and today. The Industrial Revolution drastically affected the ways that people worked. Similarly, the internet has drastically altered the ways humans work, play, and interact. While the benefits of the internet are apparent, I wanted to raise awareness of the issues it generates.
